Undefiled – Review – STACKED Rating

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Struggling with an endless cycle of family-destroying addiction and shame, an ageing Mitch Jennings finally gets his shot at professional baseball turning his back on a team secret that may cost a sex-trafficked young girl her life.

“Undefiled” is a gripping drama inspired by real-life events that’ll make you sit up and take notice. Directed by Matthew McCaulley, this film dives deep into some dark corners of society, showing us the struggle between good and evil.

The story follows an ageing baseball player whose life is falling apart. He’s battling addiction, dealing with a failing marriage, and haunted by childhood trauma. But when he uncovers a horrifying truth about some members of his team, abusing an underage girl, he’s faced with a gut-wrenching decision.

Led by Bradford Haynes, the performances are solid, though some could’ve packed more punch. Still, the cast, including Stelio Savante, Cory Kays, and Kalyn Elizabeth Wood, bring the story to life with sincerity.

“Undefiled” isn’t without its flaws. It’s got its fair share of rough edges and budget constraints, but the message it carries is powerful enough to make it worth a watch. It’s a reminder of the courage it takes to stand up against injustice, even when the odds are stacked against you.

While the execution may be messy at times, the themes explored in “Undefiled” are important and resonate long after the credits roll. It’s a film that’ll make you think, and that’s what sets it apart.

In the end, “Undefiled” may not be perfect, but its heart is in the right place. It’s a raw and honest portrayal of the fight against evil in our society, and that’s something every 16-year-old should see.
