Air Force One Down – Review – STACKED Rating
A rookie agent aboard the hijacked Air Force One battle terrorists threatening the energy deal and the president.
“Air Force One Down” is like a rollercoaster ride of action and thrills, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges. Directed by James Bamford, this budget-friendly action flick stars Katherine McNamara as Allison Miles, a rookie Secret Service agent who finds herself in the middle of a hijacking aboard Air Force One.
The movie kicks off with Miles joining the president’s plane for the first time, only to have it taken over by a group from a fictional Eastern European country. Yeah, it sounds like something out of a video game, and the production sometimes feels like it’s from the ’80s too. But hey, that adds to the charm, right?
Sure, the dialogue can be cheesy, and the plot might not make sense if you think about it too much. But McNamara shines as Miles, bringing a tough and no-nonsense attitude that’s just plain cool. Plus, she kicks butt in some seriously epic fight scenes.
The story is pretty straightforward: Miles teams up with her uncle Sam (played by Anthony Michael Hall) to save the president from the rogue general (played by Rade Serbedzija) behind the hijacking. There’s some political stuff thrown in, but let’s be real, we’re here for the action.
And boy, does this movie deliver on that front. From intense knife fights to adrenaline-pumping chases through narrow corridors, there’s never a dull moment. Sure, Bamford might take things a bit too seriously at times, but it’s all part of the ride.
So yeah, “Air Force One Down” might not be winning any Oscars, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re into action-packed thrill rides. Just don’t overthink it, sit back, and enjoy the ride.
